February To-Do List:
Triumphator Lily: “WOW!” These
photos came from Jimmy Turner but you don’t have to have his gardening
genius to succeed with them. These lilies tower over beds at about 50
inches in height. They will bloom beautifully in zones 5-9 (in early
summer here in Texas.) They are fabulously fragrant. Each year you’ll be
blessed with larger and larger clumps.
Early Spring Vegetable Gardens: Until
the end of February you can still plant lettuces, mustard and turnip
greens, sugar peas, carrots, kales, chards, spinach, radishes, and beets
from seed. Tomatoes and peppers can be given a early start by planting
now with protection (greenhouses, etc.) We have seeds available. We also
have transplants of strawberries, kales, and cauliflowers,
Belinda’s Dream or Valentine’s Dream? From
February 1st through Valentine’s Day our 2 gallon Belinda’s Dream are
$12.00 each. You’ll be someone’s sweetheart all year long with the gift
of this beautiful rose.
